Congress workers to gherao BJP MPs on 26 May in Gujarat

Gujarat Congress workers will go to the houses of Lok Sabha MPs in order to gherao them on 26 May on completion of Narendra Modi government’s one year. Congress workers will seek details of status of promises made before the election.

Decision on this agitation programme was made in a meeting held today at party headquarters in Ahmedabad in presence of state party president Bharatsinh Solanki and state party incharge Gurudas Kamat.

Party meeting concluded that advance planning and its execution will only ensure victory of Congress party in upcoming district/taluka panchayat and municipal corporation/municipality elections. Decisions for local body elections will be taken at local level. Those who have made unique contribution in various fields, lawyers, doctors, engineers and youths will be given preference in ticket distribution.

It was decided that Rajiv Gandhi’s death anniversary on 21st May will be marked at a function in Rajkot. Congress party will hold (agitation/dharna) programmes on water supply issues related to ongoing summer period from 23rd May at city and district levels.
