Rahul Gandhi arrives in Ahmedabad, to take part in ‘Navsarjan Gujarat Janadesh’ rally

Hours before his visit, Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi on Monday said that Gujarat is priceless and it can never be bought.

Rahul’s comment came after Patidar leader Narendra Patel a close aide of Hardik Patel alleged that he was offered a whopping amount of Rs 1 crore to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) amid inching state polls.

“Gujarat is priceless. It has never been been bought. It can never be bought. It will never be bought,” Rahul said in a tweet.

This for the third time in a month the Congress leader is visiting the state.

Another Patidar leader Nikhil Sawani has also announced his resignation from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), citing the reason to be unfulfilled promises made by the party.

The party has invited Patel quota agitation leader Hardik Patel and Dalit leader Jignesh Mevani to meet Rahul Gandhi.

Gandhi will take part in `Navsarjan Gujarat Janadesh’ rally organised by the party in Gandhinagar where OBC leader Alpesh Thakor will join the Congress.

The Congress, which is out of power in Gujarat for 22 years, is wooing leaders such as Hardik Patel, Mevani and Thakor who have a significant support base in their respective communities.
