Leaving few businessmen, everyone is agitating in Gujarat: Rahul Gandhi

November 14, 2017

Addressing the Patidars, Rahul said, “The BJP government fired bullets at you, they hit you with sticks, they have committed atrocities”. Gujarat has given India a lot of strength – whether it is Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel or Gandhiji. He also visited the Swaminarayan temple and Ambaji temple, among others.

Vice President, who was visiting the north part of Gujarat, was welcomed by massive crowds, mostly dominated by the Patidar community, when his unplanned mega road show reached the Modhera crossroads in Mehsana town.

On November 11, Rahul began his campaign for Assembly polls in north Gujarat with a visit to the famous Akshardham temple in Gandhinagar.

In his media interaction he had several posers for Rahul Gandhi, but main focus was on the temple visits which is one of the main features of Gandhi’s four visits of Gujarat in last over one month. He also became part of a magician’s disappearing coin trick. He then met a group of denotified tribals and assured them recognition for their community. Gandhi said: “The BJP is snatching away your money, your power, your land and giving it to handful of industrialists, around 10″. He even mingled with the local children and offered them candies. “The Congress government will be the one to bring change”.

Earlier, on the way from Shankeshwar temple, Gandhi spoke to reporters and said, “They (BJP) have deployed 300-400 persons who are spreading lies about me”. My family has a relationship with him. We have imbibed it fundamentally and shared it. “Gujarat has given strength to the nation, whether it is Sardar Patel or Gandhiji”. During his roadshow, Gandhi asked for a Gandhi cap with the inscription of “Jay Sardar”, which is usually worn by Patidar youth. Rahul offered prayers at Bahuchara Ji Temple near Mehsana district in Gujarat. At Mela village in Patan, Gandhi broke the security cordon, got off the bus and went into the fields to speak to a few castor farmers. “GST has crushed people” Earlier, in Becharaji, Gandhi told a large gathering that just as demonetisation and GST were launched by NDA government at midnight, Gabbar Singh, the notorious villain of popular film “Sholay”, too attacked people at midnight.
