Congress raises groundnut, land survey issues with governor
Gujarat Congress MLAs submitted a memorandum to Governor O P Kohli on Monday raising three issues — demand for judicial probe into the groundnut scam by a sitting judge, correcting faulty resurvey of land, and asserting rights of peaceful protest.
The group of Congress MLAs led by state Congress president Amit Chavda and leader of opposition in the state assembly, Paresh Dhanani highlighted harassment caused to farmers by the faulty survey, and stressed on the rights of citizens to protest peacefully against the government, without raising the name of PAAS leader Hardik Patel, who is currently on an indefinite fast.
