Day before Rahul Gandhi rally Congress steps up war on price rise, attacks BJP

Just a day before Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi hits the campaign trail, the party has stepped up its offensive against the BJP on price rise.

At a press conference, Delhi’s former CM Sheila Dixit, demonstrated before the media-a LGP cylinder and samples of pulses to highlight problems of citizens facing sudden price rise and increase in LPG rates.

“Price has broken the back bone of the people and BJP has no answers to this in the polls. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made several tall claims about his government but ground realities are very different. The people are losing faith in the government, and the graph is coming down” she alleged . She also attacked Modi over failure to protect the interests of the apple growers, who were promised hike in import duty.There have been three and half year but nothing has been done for the apple growers of Himachal Pradesh. Later in the day Union Minister for Railways Piyush Goyal at a press conference rejected the charges made by the Congress on prices.

“There could be one or two items for which the prices went high but if you take a total picture of the price scenario, things were very much in control. The Congress government , were a complete failure during its regime, while Modi government has given much relief to the people in checking inflation. Thus, there was no impact,” he said.
