SC order a slap on face of state election commission & state BJP govt: Bharatsinh Solanki

Reacting to Supreme Court’s order on Thursday, to the State Election Commission (SEC) to go ahead with conducting the municipal and zilla panchayat polls at different dates as announced earlier but declare the results of the two on the same date, state Congress president Bharatsinh Solanki said that this amounted to a tight slap on the face of SEC and state BJP government. The apex court’s order came on a petition by two state Congress workers. SEC had on October 23 declared to conduct municipal elections and declare its results before holding of the zilla panchayat polls.
