Khambha Marketing Yard polls: BJP loses all seats, Congress makes clean sweep

In a blow to the ruling BJP, it lost all seats in the Khambha Marketing Yard elections, results of which were declared Friday. The results also indicated that the party was losing its support among the Patidars, who have been demanding OBC status and quota benefits. The panel fielded by Congress won all 13 seats — eight reserved for farmers, four for traders and one for the gram panchayat. The traders’ panel of Congress won all four seats unopposed.
