Gujarat Govt to Make its Stand Clear on Quota: Shankersinh Vaghela

Leader of Opposition in Gujarat Assembly and former Chief Minister Shankersinh Vaghela said Gujarat Government must clear its stand on reservation and on Economic Backward Class quota. Whether it wants to grant quota to Patidar community or not should be made clear.

Shankersinh Vaghela said, ‘Jail Bharo’ agitation was announced publicly. It was not sudden development. If agitators wanted to go go jail, government could arrange grounds where 50-60,000 agitators could be contained. Permission not-granted was technical issue which could be put aside.

Congress’s policy is clear in this regard that existing 49% quota will stay untouched and 20% additional quota will be granted on the basis of economic backwardness.
