Gujarat CM’s twitter town hall turns into a fiasco
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani’s first interaction on social media with Twitter Town Hall has failed to impressed the netizens with Chief Minister not touching the sensitive topics with more than 8000 questions posed by twitteratis, who started trolling the Chief Minister with a hashtag “missingGujCM” on the microblogging platform.
More than 30,000 questions were posed to the Chief Minister, who had invited citizens to engage with him on Twitter town hall on Friday with a hashtag “AskVijayRupani.”
“People of the state can ask me any question related to the development or administrative work or any other issues regarding the state,” Mr. Rupani had said in a video message posted on his twitter handle, inviting questions from the citizens.
However, only a few questions were answered by the Chief Minister in a closed door televised interview with a local news channel. “Barely two dozen questions were answered by the Chief Minister because of technical glitches and also some questions were very sensitive,” said a source who was involved in the preparations.
However, frustrated at not getting their answers, twitteratis started trolling the Chief Minister with a hashtag “missingGujCM” and dubbing his initiative as failed PR exercise.
“The Chief Minister was supposed to answer questions on live interaction but instead it was recorded and only edited version will be shown on TV. His so called interaction has turned into a fiasco,” said Shaktisinh Gohil, Congress spokesperson.
