‘Growth engine of India is now in reverse gear’

Shankarsinh Vaghela, leader of opposition in the state assembly, has accused the state government of making false claims on Gujarat’s growth. While speaking in the House, Vaghela said that Gujarat, termed the ‘growth engine of India’ is currently in reverse gear. He alleged that the BJP has cheated people with slogans like Sauno Sath, Sauno Vikas, and Achhe Din Ane Vala Hai.

Pointing out that the state’s public debt has already crossed Rs2 lakh crore, the senior Congress leader claimed that in the last 15 years, the state government has done little more than announcing one promise after another.
