Government visionless; Budget anti-people : Bharatsinh Solanki
The debt-trapped government’s budget is anti-poor and anti-middle class. The government has ignored public interest in the budget. Even as government is getting huge revenues, 8,000 villages are facing scarcity of water. Even in Ahmedabad, 22% of areas do not even get clean drinking water. While the government is celebrating 2016-17 as Yuva Vikas Varsh, there are 20 lakh unemployed youth. Against this, the government has plans for only 66,000 jobs. Start-ups have been allocated Rs25 crore, but Dholera SIR, where big players will invest, has been allocated Rs1,800 crore. This will further widen the income gap with the rich on one side and the middle class and poor class on the other. OBC, SCs and STs have not been allocated funds commensurate to their population, hindering their progress. Instead of ensuring inclusive growth and creating infrastructure, the budget ensures well being of only a selected few.
