Congress celebrates 10 years of MNREGA

The Congress party organised a programme to celebrate the 10 years of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA).

At the event held at the Mahatma Gandhi Nagargruh in the city, state Congress president Bharatsinh Solanki said that over eight crore people took advantage of the scheme. Solanki added that the scheme had led to social change, economic upliftment and lesser people migrating to cities.

Solanki also came down heavily on the BJP at the event. He said that while Congress had created assets like hospitals, schools and irrigation facilities for people, the BJP handed over government properties to its close aides.
