80 office bearers from Gujarat Congress meet Sonia and Rahul Gandhi

Newly elected presidents and vice presidents of 23 district panchayats, 23 district unit party presidents, 6 city unit party presidents, leader of opposition in 6 municipal corporations from Gujarat along with state party president, general secretaries, Seval Dal, Yuvak Congress, Mahila Congress and NSUI presidents from Gujarat – in total 80 party leaders from Gujarat today paid courtesy visit to Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president and Sonia’s son Rahul Gandhi in Delhi today. According to the state Congress statement issued here, Gujarat leaders invited Sonia and Rahul Gandhi to visit Gujarat. Schedule of their Gujarat visit programme will be declared in coming days, the party statement added. It should be mentioned here that after the local elections last months and consequent appointments then-after, the state party unit had proposed courtesy visit to Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. However Rahul Gandhi was visiting Europelike every year to celebrate the new year for at least ten days. Rahul Gandhi returned back to the country just yesterday from Europe tour and therefore the visit of Gujarat Congress leaders could become possible today.
